We are the IEEE Student Branch at Texas Tech University.

What is IEEE?

Great question!

IEEE stands for the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers and is the predominant professional cohort of electrical and computer engineers around the world!

Our student branch is the largest student organization that exists within the Texas Tech University Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) department. Our goal is to provide enriching professional development and social events, as well advocating for the interests of our student body as a whole.

Here are some of the ways that we strive towards those goals:

  1. We faciliiate networking opportunities for students in the form of company information sessions. Many of these information sessions provide students with closer-knit interaction with recruiters and an opportunity to receive feedback on their resumes from industry-professionals
  2. We plan social events for students such as volleyball, basketball tournaments, movie nights, study nights, and more!
  3. We assemble “digital kits” for all sections of Modern Digital System Design (ECE 2372). These kits are assembled from supply lists that are provided by professors for convenient purchase by the students.
  4. Our officer team provides weekly hours for students to come by and ask more about the organization, services the organization provides, or to ask general questions about the ECE department.
