Project Lab Soldering Tutorial 1

IEEE will be hosting a soldering tutorial for Project Lab 1 students to create an H Bridge. This event is required if you are in ECE 3331 (Project Lab 1)! We will be meeting in ECE 221 for an overview of how to solder the H Bridge kits and then moving into one of the labs (probably ECE 007) for the actual soldering. If you can't come to the event, we will be hosting another one on January 23rd. All other Project Lab Students are invited to assist with soldering and can earn Pro Points!

General Meeting

We will be discussing officer positions as well as events, and other information on how to become more involved in the ECE department so be sure to attend and learn more about what we do! We will be providing pizza and giving one Pro Point to lab students who attend.

NPSS Pulsed Power Tour

The Nuclear and Plasma Sciences Society is hosting a tour of the pulsed power lab this Thursday, February 15th. This will be your chance to see some sparks fly as the basics of pulsed power are demonstrated! All are welcome, regardless of technical level; we will try to make it interesting to everyone, regardless of background, major, or year of schooling. For anyone who is interested in undergraduate or even graduate research, whether it be in pulsed power or with any other lab on campus, this is also a great event to ask questions and familiarize yourself with what that could entail.   Students in Project lab can earn 1 Pro Point for attending!

Come join us to lean about and join us for our Electric Vehicle project! Those interested in participating will be working with motors, inverters, PCB design, controls, and logic design. Project lab students can earn 1 Pro Point for attending!

Daughter Board Assembly

IEEE Office

*Requires proficiency in soldering Two bags soldered and WORKING are worth one pro point, with a MAX of five pro points available. The boards must be tested and working for it to count for any amount of pro points. Kits can be picked up from the IEEE office in the ECE basement, only two will be handed out at a time. Note: If you can solder consistently and produce working daughter boards, you can earn more than 5 pro points. Otherwise, 5 is the maximum amount.
